Ron Plocek turned professional in 2008. Ron will be fishing the 2009 Bassmasters Northern Opens in hopes to qualify for the Bassmasters Elite’s. Ron will also fish a couple of other trails along with several open tournaments.

Ron had a very successful 2008. Ron won 2 ABA tournaments, Chaumont Bay and the 2 day Division Championship on Cayuga Lake, Qualified for the Regional Championship on Kerr Reservoir in North Carolina and National Championships on Guntersville Lake in Alabama. Ron was honored to win 2008 Angler of the Year title.
Ron won the Co-Angler division of the Bassmasters Elite Champion’s Choice August 7-9, 2008 on Oneida Lake, Syracuse, NY. This was the last Elite tournament that will involve Co-Anglers. Ron also had lunker on day one and the biggest single day bag for the Co-Anglers. "Winning was wonderful, but winning on my birthday made it even more special"
